Eh.

The pace of this story was good, the story line okay. I was excited to get this one and then kind of let down. Let's get to why.

Samantha. She's a bit too weak for me. I want a heroine, or actually need one, with a little bit more backbone. I need a heroine who knows her worth and isn't afraid to make the guy work for what she deserves.  I felt like she let Jack run all over her and take all the blame for how things transpired between them. Girl no. Did you have some faults in how things happened? Well maybe a little bit but stand up for yourself!! He put you in a position to make decisions you shouldn't have had to  make alone. He doesn't get a free pass.

Jack. I liked him in the beginning. I even understood why he wanted to cut ties with Samantha in the beginning. He was just starting out and had signed her brother who was his biggest client. They were young. So many factors on why he did what he did. But then things went south for me. He over the top reactions and blame made me hate him a little. Not a good thing. The only thing that kind of redeemed him in my eyes was the very end and not even because of him and Samantha's relationship.

It was an okay story for me. I think the author has so much more potential and I will read the next one.

My client’s younger sister is off-f***ing-limits. Getting my first big client signed to the NFL was the second best moment of my life. Escorting his sister back to her hotel was the first. Imagining what she would feel like, look like, taste like—none of it was as good as the real thing. If her brother found out, it would destroy my career, so I ended things between us. Eight years later, the girl who got away still owns me. First, I’ll make her forgive me, and then I’m going to make her mine. He’s owned my body for far too long. It’s been years since he touched me, and my skin still remembers every brush, stroke, and thrust. I want to forget how good it felt. Almost as much as I want to do it again. We can’t finish what we started until I make my confession. I have a secret—one that wasn’t mine to keep. Before he can love me, he’ll have to find some way to forgive me.
