WHR Team ~ 5 Star Reviews & Release Blitz ~ Tangled Lies Series ~ One is a Promise by Pam Godwin
Heather's 5 Star Captivated Review
Pam Godwin's prose captivates you from the first chapter. This is going on my Top Reads of 2017 list, stat! ~ Heather, White Hot Reads
I've only read a couple books by Pam Godwin before this and I have to say, her prose is sheer perfection! I found myself reading and re-reading passages because her words are so beautiful. Often, I found myself so struck in the heart I needed to take a breath before I continued.
"You strive for greatness without calculation or awareness that you're doing it. That's empowering." This. This is empowering! I can’t even begin to tell you how my mind was spinning after this. This is what I want to be. So inspiring!
This book made me question everything from the very beginning. I spouted thoughts and theories to my blogger friends who were reading with me. They laughed at me and laughed with me. They wondered where I came up with so many of the things I did. They asked if I read ahead, and NO, I didn’t… this time! It’s like the were able to get a small peak into the madness that is my mind.
Because love doesn’t end with death. It doesn’t shrivel and disintegrate with the ashes. It hovers, follows, and haunts the living. HOLY HOTCAKES BATMAN! Anyone else want to talk about this?! Wait, can we come back to this? Because I’m not sure I’m ready to talk about it yet. But when I am, I promise it’s going to be a seriously long one.
Love isn’t a choice. Nor is life. Can I get an AMEN? YESSSSS! For years I’ve said ‘we don’t choose who we love.’ It isn’t a choice. We don’t decide that we’re going to love someone, ever. Our hearts and souls speak a language that only the other can hear. And until we find that someone, it’s all a beautiful part of living.
So let’s be honest, I went into One Is a Promise totally blank. I had no idea I Pam would take me on such a deep and soul searching ride. I can’t wait to see what happens next, but until then, I’m going to savor the lessons on love and life.
Lana's 5 Star Review
What an emotional, explosive, intense relationship Danni and Trace have. The hot and cold, back and forth between them is all consuming. Danni is still struggling with the loss of her first love Cole. She has felt nothing for the past 3 years then Trace comes barreling into her life like a cat 5 hurricane and she finally feels again. The chemistry between these two is off the chart sexy. I was not expecting that ending but holy wow!!! Lana- White Hot Reads
Elizabeth's 5 Stars of Promise's & Lies Review
Pam Godwin gripped me immediately with the first book to this series.
Danni is grieving the loss of her first love, Cole. Throwing herself into the dating world again. She knows she needs to get out there again. When she crosses paths with Trace, she cannot fathom how she can feel this way twice in a lifetime.
Their first encounters isn't as it seems, lies are weaved and Danni is going to have a choice to make.
"If Cole was in this room right now, where would I fall? Would you shove, me aside to get to him?" -- Trace
I know who I would choose... hands down. Are you Team Trace or Team Cole? I am #TeamTrace all the way!!
Misty's **5 Lying but Promised-filled Stars** Review
Wow. This book gripped me from the very start and I did not want to put it down. I knew there had to be a big twist coming since there are 3 books and the only thing I can say is, I'm so glad we don't have to wait long for the next two books.
"Because love doesn't end with death. It doesn't shrivel and disintegrate with the ashes. It hovers, follows, haunts the living."
Woah. I feel like those words Danni felt came straight from my soul. I've lived the death of a great love just like Danni. Everything she lived through and felt, I've been there. And I love the strength she came out with. It may have taken awhile but she dusted herself off and realized she deserved a second chance. To be loved again. And boy did she find it.
I don't even know where to begin with Trace. I think I almost hated him in the beginning and I didn't quite get why Danni was so attracted to him. But then something shifted. I started seeing him in a different light and I fell in love right along with her. And then I got him. I got why he was so reserved. So determined not give into his feelings and it's not something I saw coming. Or maybe I did a little with the clues that I found added up.
Pam has woven a story of lies and betrayals and of course love. But where does love fall into this story? And who does it conquer?
